​MISSION AND HISTORY
In 2001, Pastor and community leader, Richard Salazar decided to start an organization dedicated to serving the community called Family Outreach and Community Intervention Services.
F.O.C.I.S. is the acronym for this organization whose efforts benefit families by providing a comprehensive list of services that address the urgent & habitual problems which affect our communities.
Family Outreach and Community Intervention Services, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization provides many valuable services to Southern California communities through comprehensive counseling, violence education and intervention services, youth and adult addiction recovery, and many other specialized services.

The following are some of the services provided to the community by F.O.C.I.S.:

Family: To provide families with the tools necessary to create a structured environment in the home, a solid future plan for the family, and problem-solving skills.
Outreach: To connect our ideas and practices to those communities in need of our assistance by providing awareness of our services and engaging with underserved populations.
Community: To empower individuals and families through social awareness and community involvement providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities.
Intervention: To partner with families, schools, law enforcement authorities and other community organizations to connect teens and families with the resources to achieve their dreams and goals, overcome barriers to opportunities, and become effective community members.
Services: To provide awareness, activism, and traditional culturally competent services through comprehensive care, intensive case management, coordination of program services, and support.
